Grading Policy/Scale/Syllabus

  • A = 90-100
  • B = 80-89
  • C = 70-79
  • D = 60-69
  • F = 59 and below

Following KGHS grading system.  Each 6 week marking period is 30% of semester grade and the Final exam is 10%.   30% x 3 = 90% +10% = 100% of students grade.

Read each carefully because there is different grading per class.

Information Technology Fundamentals (2018 ITF syllabus KG version):

Grading Scale:

  • 50% Class work/Homework
  • 40% Test
  • 10% Warm Up

Late assignments are deducted 10% for each day late; assignments will not be accepted after 3 days.

It is the student’s responsibility to access the look at website for missed assignments.  Students have until the following day to turn in missed work, and then it starts being treated as a late assignment.

For any student who has a long absence it is recommended that the student identify the missing assignments and talk with teacher to establish a time frame assignments will be completed.

Economics and Personal Finance Grading 2019_20 EPF syllabus KG version):

Grading Policies:

  • 20% Projects
  • 30% Test/Quizzes
  • 30% Homework/classwork/simulations
  • 10% Warm up/participation
  • 10% Vocabulary

Makeup/Missed/Test/Late Work Policy:

Students will use textbook and other sources for this class.  Students are graded through class work, test, and projects.  Assignments are assigned daily and to be completed for grade.  Any assignment not turned in by the due date, will be treated as late work and docked 10% each day for 3 days.  Late work will be accepted for 3 days then the zero will remain. Any students out of school has three days to make up work (all assignments are on my website).

All work not completed in class must be finished during IE or as homework in conjunction with any additional assignments.    In the event that a test or quiz is missed, it must be taken during Flextime within three days.  It is the students’ responsibility to request and make up any missed assignments.

If student fails a test, he/she may request a make-up within 3 days’ time, from receiving his/her grade.  Remediation and retest (different test) must be completed within one weeks’ time.  The two test grades will be averaged to represent the new grade.

King George High School HONOR CODE:

Anyone cheating will receive a zero for that assignment/test and referral to the office. If it is not your original work it is considered cheating!

Student Assignments:

Students will be access the working papers online.  Students are expected to complete study guide, crossword puzzle, and the following:

The chapters in the textbook are divided into sections.  Each section has a Work together (WTG) problem that will be done in class, an On Your Own (OYO) that students will be instructed to complete if need more practice, and an Application problem will be graded.  At the end of the unit students will be instructed to complete additional problems such as Mastery, Challenge, or Source.

Daily schedule (estimated):

  • 5 -10 minute Warm Up activity
  • 30 – 40 minute lecture on current section with completion of WTG assignment
  • 30 – 40 minutes of student completing the remaining assignments in class
  • 10 – 15 minutes of reading the next section

Due dates: 

  • All assignments are due the day after assigned.  Study guide is due the day before the test.

Business Law (Business Law syllabus KG version):

Grading:

  • 10% Warm Up
  • 15% Case Study
  • 40% Class work/Homework
  • 35 Test/Quiz
